"It's Like Having a Developmental Editor for Book Marketing"

coaching & consulting with author marketing expert larissa reynolds

As in, “get my emails straightened out with what to say and how to say it so readers will love me and buy everything I write.”

As in, “figure out a workable publishing schedule and marketing plan to sell books without making myself crazy.”

As in, "finally understand who my readers really are — and the emotional hooks that make them buy — to make "selling" books seem effortless."

Schedule a call with Larissa today — and create leverage, clarity and action with your book marketing plans.

Want to save a spot for later, but worried your schedule might change? You can reschedule any call with me up to 24 hours before our appointment time. All your reminder emails will have an easy link to reschedule, and I'll get all the notices automatically. (Isn't automation great?)

When I first started coaching author clients, I made the decision to work only with authors who were ready to make the next "big leap" in their career.

With authors who were ready to work with me one-on-one for an intensive time, with a serious financial commitment (usually $5K-10K or more). Authors who wanted to reach high and move fast.

That’s been great, but...

Here's the reality.

Sometimes you don’t need to make a big leap to see progress.

Sometimes a small step will do.

Sometimes you don’t need to carve out weeks or months for your next project.

Sometimes a quick bit of advice will get you on track.

Sometimes you just need a nudge in the right direction.

So I'm trying an experiment.

For a limited time, I'm offering coaching and consulting in incremental time slots for projects big or small...

To get you on the right track and pointed in the right direction…

To tackle your author mailing list…

To create a clear path forward with your publishing business...

And to help you sell more books.

So What Does That Mean, Exactly?
What's Possible With Personal Author Coaching?

Oh, the question should be what's not possible with personal author coaching? ;)

Unlike structured courses or training programs, personal coaching offers a flexible, custom framework to make sure you get exactly what you need, when you need it... and help you develop the skills and resources you need to sell more books with less effort.

We can work together on projects large or small, discuss one-time topics, mix and match — whatever we need to do to get strategies and systems in place to make your unique writing and publishing business a success (and to fit your own definition of success).

Most of the author clients I work with are looking to create big leverage from reader relationships and email marketing lists (since I've got nearly 20 years of experience there), but any topic related to self-publishing or running a creative business is fair game.

Here are a few specific ideas about how I can help you. See if these ring a bell?

  • Want to take your email marketing to the next level and sell more books (without being sleazy or spammy about it)? Let me be your “developmental editor” for email sequences and automations — whether that’s with initial welcome emails for new readers… outlining book launch and new release emails… or optimizing promotional and giveaway emails… review team and beta reader recruiting… or even extended automations to sell your backlist books.
  • Wondering how to organize all the “moving parts” of your mailing lists? Let’s audit your marketing and email lists together and make sure you’ve got all the right pieces in the right places. From email deliverability and technical issues… to deciding how to segment readers and fans for maximum engagement (and minimum stress)… to sorting schedules with what, when and how often to send… to reader-focused ideas of what to say and how to say it… let’s work together to create marketing systems and plans that fit your unique business goals.
  • Does your publishing business feel broken? Does it feel like you’ve tried everything and done everything you’re "supposed" to do, and still nothing works? Or the things that used to work to sell books, just no longer do? Sometimes it’s hard to see the forest for the trees. But I’m great at quickly diagnosing the “stuck points” in your author business — from branding and covers and blurbs, to genre expectations and storylines, to marketing and advertising — all in the name of helping you get back on the path to selling books.
  • Want to get off the giveaway and freebie roller coaster? Tired of bribing readers to read your books? Work with me and my proven Reader Roadmap process and let’s discover who your best readers really are (and why they buy) — so you can stop marketing your books from the bargain bin, and start building a viable (and profitable) long-term author career.
  • Have you built a large email list of readers, only to be left wondering when the book sales will kick in? Do you send emails and hear crickets in response? Let me help you troubleshoot where your mailing list has gone wrong, and show you how to create emails that readers love to open, read and click (and emails that sell books).
  • Are you tired of the "write, publish, repeat" race to write more and publish faster — just barely keeping up with visibility and book sales? It doesn't have to be that way. Let's work together and create a workable publishing schedule and marketing plan to support your unique business and lifestyle goals.

Now, can we do all the things above in just a 1-hour call? Of course not. Don't be silly. But you'd be surprised how much we can accomplish in a short, focused period of time.

Does that list above cover "everything" we might do together? Probably not.

But I've worked with coaching clients and run creative companies for more than 20 years (with nearly 5 years in the publishing industry). So if you have questions about how or what to do on your writing and publishing journey — odds are I can give you a great answer fast (or point you to a great resource) and save you tons of time and heartache along the way.

See for yourself first-hand, by scheduling your first 1-hour call below. Just click that big green button to check the schedule — and let's make a plan to get your writing and publishing business on track and selling books.

Okay, But I'm Crunched for Time.
How Does The Scheduling Work?

We can mix and match your coaching schedule pretty much any way that works for you.

  • Want to book a one-time call to solve a specific problem? You can do that.

  • Want to schedule a series of calls over several weeks to work on a specific project together? You can do that, too.

  • Want to schedule a call to "test the waters" with a small problem and see what it's like to work with me... before we tackle a bigger challenge together? That's fine!

  • Want to book 2 or 3 time slots in the same day, so we don't have to stop working when your first hour is up? If it's open on the calendar, you can do that.

  • Want to book 3 or 4 days in a row, so we can power through a big project in a short period of time? Yep, you can do that, too.

  • Want to touch base once a week (or every other week, or once a month, whatever) for accountability and momentum? No problem.

As long as spots are still available on my calendar, we can mix and match and use your coaching time however you want.

Just click the big green "Schedule Your Call" button below to take a look at the calendar and see available options in your own time zone.

What Happens When I Schedule A Call?

Hey, I get it. If you haven't booked a virtual coaching session with me before, the "how does this work" part might be a little perplexing.

Here's exactly how it works, step-by-step:

  • When you click the big green "Schedule Your Call" button on this page, you'll go to my calendar and see available days and times. (Pick your own time zone from the dropdown list, and the times will adjust automatically.) Select your preferred day and time and click Continue. (Or click "Recurring..." to add multiple calls at once.)

  • chevron-right
Next, you'll be asked for your contact information and to share a few details about what you'd like to accomplish during our time together. If you're not sure what to say, just tell me about whatever prompted you to book a coaching call right now.
  • chevron-right
After you've added your details, click the Pay Now button and enter your payment information. Your day/time will be "reserved" for 20 minutes while the payment magic happens, so you don't have to worry about losing your spot.
  • chevron-right
Once your payment is complete, you'll get an immediate confirmation email with a link to a private Zoom meeting room for your call. If you haven't used Zoom before, it's similar to most online meeting software. Depending on your browser settings, you might need to install a small app ahead of time to connect to the meeting.
  • You'll also get an email reminder 7 days before our call, another email reminder 48 hours before our call, and then 1 hour before our call you'll get an email and a text message. If something comes up, you can reschedule up to 24 hours before our session time.

  • chevron-right

When it's time for us to talk, just click the link in your email to connect to your unique Zoom meeting room. For audio, you can either dial-in by phone (with international numbers, too) or connect with your computer headset.

  • Once you're logged in to Zoom, we'll be able to talk in real-time, and you can share your screen with me if needed. If you give me permission during the call, I can even take remote control of your screen and handle some things for you directly.

Easy right? To get started just click the big green "Schedule Your Call" button below to see available days and times in your own time zone.

Want to book now and save a spot for later, but worried your schedule might change? You can reschedule any call with me up to 24 hours before our appointment time. All your reminder emails will have an easy link to reschedule, and I'll get all the notices automatically. (Isn't automation great?)

I'm Ready to Work With You, But...

So you've read all the way to the bottom of the page, and you're still not quite sure?

No worries. Let's set up a quick (and free) strategy call to chat about your business and your goals. I'll tell you (honestly) if I can help or not, and we can map out a coaching plan before you sign up.

No risk. No big sales pitch. Just a friendly phone call.
